FAIR-TRADE ORGANIC COFFEE
We Fresh Roast in-house
We choose only Fair Trade Organic Coffee beans from all around the world. Masterful roasting is our passion, and each bean has a flavor profile that is greatest at its own unique roast.
Try our “buzz roast” (named because light roasts have more caffeine than its darker counterparts) for that light fruity or floral flavor, or a medium roast if you prefer something right down the middle. Prefer that dark robust flavor? Go for our dark roast that is sure to please the palate. Our espresso bar offers a range of traditional drinks including the latte, americano, cappuccino, and mocha. |
COFFEE FAQ's
Q.) So what makes Raw Deal Coffee different from store bought coffee or other chain coffee shops?
A.) At Raw Deal we buy our coffee beans before they are roasted. This allows us to fresh roast all of our coffee at whichever temperature gives the coffee its greatest flavor profile. Q.) Why is coffee better when it is fresh roasted? A.) Just as with any other product you are consuming, you want it as fresh as possible (think buying old verses new produce). When buying coffee from other places you have no idea what day the beans were roasted. It could be months and even in some cases years. By drinking our fresh roasted coffee you are guaranteed a quality, fair trade organic (farmer sustainability) cup of coffee roasted not more than 10 days ago. Q.) What does Buzz, Medium, and Dark Roast mean? A.) These names represent the temperatures at which the whole green beans are roasted. The higher the temperature the darker the roast and the less caffeine it contains. Buzz is a light roast. It contains the most caffeine so you can imagine how it got its name. Q.) But I thought Dark roasted coffee had more caffeine? A.) Contrary to popular belief, the darker you roast the beans, the more caffeine you are actually roasting out of the beans. Looking at the oil on the outside of the dark roast, you can see that the oils (the caffeine) have escaped due to high temperature roasting. Q.) What makes Fair Trade Organic (FTO) coffee better? A.) When coffee is Organic it means that the beans were grown without pesticides, herbicides, or other chemicals. When beans are fair trade, the farmers who grow and harvest the beans get more compensation for their work. Q.) Do you have Flavored or blended coffees? A.) We do not flavor any of our coffee beans with artificial flavors. We buy our bean “region specific” like Brazil, Ethiopian Harrar, Timor, and Yemen. Each of the regions has their own specific flavor that is prevalent in different roast levels. |
